When founded in 1956, the Niagara Lutheran Home was the first freestanding nursing facility in Western New York. It was then and is now a not-for-profit, Christian-based organization.

Through the years, the Niagara Lutheran Health System has evolved from a 60-bed nursing facility to its current status as a health system serving people on two campuses. Niagara Lutheran Health System affiliates provide high quality retirement living options and various levels of health care to nearly 500 individuals of all faiths and walks of life on a daily basis and employs more than 800 dedicated, compassionate people.

Our Buffalo campus, located in the heart of Buffalo near Canisius College and Sisters Hospital, is comprised of Niagara Lutheran Home & Rehabilitation Center and the Lutheran Church Home.
